Brian & Amy Show The Sparkler... It was only a mere few moons ago when we first branded Brian O'Driscoll and his then new girlfriend Amy Huberman with the celebrity-couple moniker 'Bramy'. It's like we have a vested interest in their ongoing relationship, so it was with the ultimate paternal pride that we took the first photos of the couple yesterday when they confirmed Brian finally popped-the-question... Stop. We're welling-up here... Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman O how fast they grow up... It was only two short nostalgic years ago when our snappers were a chasin' bould Brian down O'Connell Street after he tried to escape getting snapped with his then new sweetheart Amy Huberman, after attending a movie Premiere. Only back then, he ended-up leaving his poor bewildered date on the street as he dived into a waiting cab. Not a move we'd recommend folks. Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman Thankfully Amy forgave him and Dricco seems to have matured a hell of a lot since then - he's learnt from the experience of attempting to dodge the paparazzi on a date... They're far wilier than any rugby player he’ll ever meet. Annnd paps know you're only as quick as your slowest player, and our Amy is far too classy to run down the street in high heels and a fancy dress... Far too classy. Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman Thus, after popping the question last weekend, the first thing shrewd Brian did was let the press know the time and place where they could get the first pictures of the happy couple and more importantly, get a glimpse of the sparkler... Well, it was either that or get hounded night and day. Clever move Mr. O'Driscoll, we applaud your new mature approach to dealing with the media. Long may it continue. Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman Loved-up Brian and Amy made their way to Ely Bar on Ely Place at 5pm yesterday evening to give the assembled media a peek of the ring which, he is said to have forked out over 30 grand on... And from where we were standing in the scrum, it looked pretty darn big and icy-pricy... Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman Not too long after the news got out that Bramy had indeed gathered the press to officially confirm their engagement, a tall dusky model type was rumoured to be wondering aimlessly around St Stephen's Green in tears dressed in a white Wedding gown, begging every man she met to walk her down the aisle... We're almost 63% sure it wasn't Brian's ex Glenda Gilson. We said almost! Ahem. Brian O'Driscoll, Amy Huberman All joking aside (just kidding Glenda!), we're chuffed to bits for Brian and Amy on their engagement. We were never too fond of Dricco in the past basically because he vehemently despised us harmless paparazzi types. But we've always been big fans of Amy as she's always dealt with our snappers with absolute courtesy and charm. We're glad to see that her traits are finally rubbing off on Brian... When the big day comes I hope you won't be too offended if our unwashed snappers try to get a few pictures over the security fence... They're just doing their jobs lads; don't set the dogs on them too promptly.
