Magazine publisher Michael Doherty is not usually known for his comedic timing nor his satirical wit. That role used to be filled by his head-strong bud John Ryan, before he legged it off to the States and developed a strange preoccupation with cute little doggies.

So we were kinda taken aback when we heard that Johnny Boy made a toe-curling reference to Lisa 'what does she do?' Murphy at the VIP style awards last weekend. According to the papers he quipped: "Last year, we didn't have a male category, but we had a lot of interest from men coming in wearing slinky dresses and big wigs - until we realised they were taking off Lisa Murphy." Yeah, our sides are splitting too.

Apparently Michael 'is this thing working?' Doherty is now in the bad-books of Lisa's fella Gerald Keane. Oh, and not very funny. That aside, money-bags lawyer Keane wants an apology from Doherty and by heck he'll get it...
