Jodi Albert Doesn't DO Queues Baby... This weekend saw literally thousands of young girlband wannabes turning out in the hope of getting a golden ticket into Louis Walsh's and Kian Egan's new Pop group. We predicted favouritism as Kian's fiancée Jodi Albert was one of the auditionees - we weren't wrong folks... Jodi Albert We find the prospect of Kian Egan refusing his fiancée Jodi Albert a place in his and Louis Walsh's new girlband project laughable... Like he's going reject his future missus from the group? We don't think so. Not the best footing for a happy marriage Kiano - sorry Luv, you’re sacked. Jodi Albert On both Friday and Saturday this weekend, the poor little hopefuls lined around-the-block from the early morn to get their chance at crooning for Louis & Kian. We were told by the PR present, that there would be no special treatment for Jodi Albert - she'd have to queue just like the rest of the hopefuls... As if. Jodi Albert True to form, Miss Albert skipped the whole queuing bit... There was no sign of the former Hollyoaks star in unusual suspects’ line-up - that was until about 6.05pm on the Saturday, five minutes after the auditions were to end. Jodi arrived in a chauffer driven car and swanned straight into the venue without having to hangout with the great unwashed. Jodi doesn't do queues baby! Jodi Albert But to be fair to the 25 year old actress, she was well schooled in how to give an audition master class - auditionees take note... Wearing little or no make-up and dressed down, Jodi opted for a very natural look at The POD venue and belted out an almost perfect rendition of 'Chains' to the judges. We think many of the other girls scuppered their chances by overdoing the aul slap and going for the dreaded Mariah Carey warble. Cringe. Kian Egan, Sheila Burgel, Louis Walsh The judges of course were Pop svengali Louis Walsh and Westlife’s backing singer Kian Egan (well, he never gets to sing), and another lady called Sheila Burgel - whom we know very little about... Probably brought in as the impartial one. Girlband Hopeful: Kasey Smith Annnnd as we predicted some months back, Jodi got the callback to the Sunday round of finalists along with another 100 girls out of the thousands that tried-out... As did model Michele McGrath, who we also predicted would make it to the final round. You'd think we had a crystal ball... Girlband Hopeful: Karena Graham Louis Walsh commented that the talent on show in Dublin was the highest standard he's ever experienced in his long career and that Kian and he had to be ruthless when it came to cutting the numbers down. There was many a tear shed outside folks. Girlband Hopefuls: Collette McBarron, Christina McBarron And for once we have to agree with Mr. Walsh. We knew quite a few of the talented hopefuls who tried to cross over from the acting, beauty pageants and modelling worlds in the hope of getting a slot in the sure-fire-for-success band. *Users can ONLY comment via the ShowBiz.ie site Leave a Comment Vicky – South Wales July 30, 2008 - 14:43 I didn't go to the audition myself but it was said in the irish newspaper that Louis and Kian are looking for girls to join Jodi and Michelle in a new girl band so they have really said that they are through BUT if they have auditioned like every one else and they have good voices well who are we to say anything if they have done what every one else had done as if Jodi and Michelle has got through they are looking for another 3.If they haven't got through whats to say they would have picked you in the final 5.Just see what comes of it.This is my opinion as every one is entitled to. Laura Cunningham – Dublin July 28, 2008 - 17:25 I have to disagree with this article. I was there alongside Jodie, Michelle McGrath and the rest of the hopefuls on Sat and Sun. Jodie was there for the whole day on both days. She auditioned and was interviewed on Sunday like the rest of us. The fact is, Kian and Louis can chose whoever they want, it's their band! Why anyone would feel hard done by because of this is beyond me. I imagine that Jodie and Michelle will end up being in the band, but after seeing how beautiful and talented the both are I feel that they deserve it as much as anyone else. The band is already picked, the auditions are just a stage show for publicity. Jodi Albert, Linzi Cowap and Michelle McGrath are ALREADY signed to the band. It's TOTAL BS. anna – ireland July 28, 2008 - 13:00 Well firstly ive lost some respect for Kian .waiting in line to audition myself, i was disappointed with Kians whole attitude towards the young hopefulls . He gave the girls who had great voices little time to sing. i am annoyed because Him of all people should of given everyone the chance to sing more and not cut them off after a few lines. As he himself was on that very stage auditioning for Westlife.so i wonder how long did Jodie get to sing? and come on of course there is favouritism.
