Model Pippa O'Connor seems to have caught bovine foot-in-mouth disease by claiming she looked like a "heifer" when she was a plumper size 12. Irish media mouthpieces are now up in arms led by former Miss Ireland Amanda Brunker, who is currently looking smoking hot at healthy size 12...

When we caught-up with former beauty queen now journo and celebrity Mum of two, Amanda Brunker, at the TVNow Awards, we had to take a double-take. Looking slim, trim and fit 'The Brunker' has transformed her figure since she recently had a baby. In fact, she looked far better than 90% of the over processed Barbie dolls walking the red carpet at the event.

In her Sunday World column at the weekend, an irate Amanda hit-out at Pippa's verbal gaffe and stood-up for the bigger lady saying she was: "proud to be a size 12 heifer." She even went as far as to crown Pip "the most ignorant model in Ireland." Cutting.

Here at ShowBiz Ireland, we feel kinda sorry for Pippa (real name Philippa). In her original remarks, she was only trying to say she was once an ugly duckling who turned into a lovely swan and got a modelling contract into the bargain. It just didn’t come out in a media friendly way... Plus, isn't being the girlfriend of Brian Ormond punishment enough?

And it seems a long line of detractors against Pippa have come out following on from this Heifer-Gate scandal. Competitor size 8 model Rosanna Davison also rubbished her comments saying: "A size 12 is perfectly normal, healthy and attractive." So there.

With all the body weight attention on celebrities, it was great to see that former Big Brother winner Brian Dowling dropped all those extra pounds he had at last month's Meteor Awards. Although, now his head seems to be totally out-of-proportion to his skinny body... Is it offensive if we officially brand him a 'Fat Head'? Go easy on us Amanda.
