Brian Picks A Winner in Delta...

Westlife bow-out Brian McFadden has put as many air miles as possible between himself and ex-wife Kerry Katona. Now living in Australia with his fiancee Delta Goodrem, we reckon he's made a very wise choice - have you seen Kerry's 'Crazy in Love' show? Ugh.

When you look at Brian McFadden's situation from a distance, you'd think he was mad to have walked away from the Westlife cash-cow, his wife, his kids, his friends, and his family. Then when you insert his unstable ex-wife Kerry Katona into the equation it all starts to make sense. And then some!

Brian's Irish based mother Mairead, has been keeping her eye on the MTV hit sur-reality show to make sure his two kids Molly and Lily aren't featured, as he has legally blocked their inclusion. But after sitting through several episodes of this car-crash programme, Mairead hit-out to the press saying: "The whole thing is vile. If she [Kerry] thinks it's doing her any favours God help her. She's vile. He's vile [Mark Croft]. I don't care what anyone else says. It's vile."

We're with Mairead on this one. And we have to question the ethics and morals of the MTV producers who seem quite comfortable showing the ups-and-downs of a celebrity suffering from a bi-polar mental illness as she falls apart on screen for our entertainment... Manic depression, uncontrollable weeping, horrible highs-and-lows - and all for ratings folks. Sad. This isn’t TV, this is exploitation.

Such is the obvious strain on Kezza that she had to be admitted into a rehab clinic during the show's filming. Add that to the fact that she openly smokes and drinks alcohol while carrying her new husband Mark Croft's unborn child, plus she is very heavily medicated... It just smacks of uncomfortable viewing. Who would blame Brian for wanting to be far away from that? Westlife millions?? You can keep 'em mate.

Does anyone remember when MTV used to play music videos? The clue was in the name... Younger kids probably don't even realise that M.T.V. actually stands for Music Televison. But with their recent focus on documenting the dysfunctional lives of the rich and famous as a lifestyle goal for young kids, it occurs to us that the once ethically motivated channel has lost its way. MTV is not a cool brand anymore.
