Rosanna Eyes Up Miss Universe Crown...

According to reports in the Sunday Papers, former Miss World Rosanna Davison is considering a double tiara whammy by going for the Miss Universe 2008 title. If this one is true folks Andrea Roche may as well just scrap the regional heats and City West final, and simply hand Rosy the Miss Universe Ireland nomination...

Some people in the Irish meeja would have you believe that Rosanna Davison is a model in major demand both in Ireland and the UK... A truer observation would be, that even with her Miss World 2003 title and famous Dad - she has really under-delivered and should have achieved more... Rosanna who? If Mail on Sunday reports are to be believed, she wants to step back into the Beauty Queen arena and get some of that lost glory back.

So what sez you? Well, we don't think it's really the right or fair thing for Rosanna to do given that she's already lined up to co-host the M.U.I. final in City West on June 8th. Add that to fact that she would be the shoo-in winner and dash the hopes of another pretty gal who has fought her way through the regionals. Plus she did feck-all with her Miss World title potential - so what's the point? Anyway, we reckon Miss Afterdark.ie Julie Kavanagh is a far better prospect for the title and a fresh face for the future. Move on Rosy, move on.

According to Joanne Hegarty in the MoS, Andrea Roche stated: "Rosanna has expressed an interest in entering the competition..." Interesting. Well, if she does get the Irish nod folks, expect to see her wee Daddy Chris De Burgh in the front row at the Vietnam finals banging out 'The Lady in Red' to beat the band... It's like deja vu on acid gone mad!
