Boy George joins Goldie at Creamfields...

Eighties superstar Boy George will be joined by dance sensation Goldie for this years Creamfields Dance festival in Ireland at Punchestown Racecourse on Saturday June 23.

The first superstar produced by the breakbeat jungle movement, Goldie popularized drum'n'bass as a form of musical expression just as relevant for living-room contemplation as techno had become by the early '90s. , Goldie became one of the first "Personalities" in British dance music.

His gold teeth and b-boy attitude placing him leagues away from the faceless bedroom boffins which had become the norm in intelligent dance music.

For the first time, England had a beat-maestro and tough-guy head that could match the scores of larger-than-life hip-hop stars America had produced, and the high profile of drum'n'bass as the first indigenously British dance music made Goldie a figure of prime importance.

One of the leading DJ's in the UK and now Ireland due to his weekly contribution to the '2FM Clubversive' show, Boy George was famously known as lead singer of 80's group Culture Club. Now, Boy George makes his live Irish debut at Creamfields in Punchestown Racecourse.

Boasting 30,000 capacity and 6 arenas, Creamfields Ireland promises the most spectacular line-up of any outdoor festival in Ireland this year.

Boy George and Goldie now join The Chemical Brothers, Fat Boy Slim, Beck, Outkast, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul, Richie Hawtin, Mr Spring, John Power, Mark Kavanagh, Andy Preston, Raymond Franklin, Paddy Sheridan, Mark McCabe, Eoin Young and Noel Phelan to name but a few who are already set to perform at the Punchestown event.
