Destiny's Child to Jam in the Park...

American supergroup Destiny's Child will headline the first annual "Jam in the Park" in Dublin's Dalymount Park on Saturday 16 June 2001. The event, which is being organised by POD and Mean Fiddler, will be followed by another event in London's Finsbury Park, which will also be headlined by the chart topping R&B divas.

Concert goers will be treated to the finest soul, R&B and hip-hop in a rare opportunity for Europeans to catch the US megastars.

Destiny's Child will be joined by two of the biggest R&B stars, who will be announced next week. MTV's The Lick star, DJ Trevor Nelson completes the line up of what is the freshest event of 2001.

Set to send temperatures sky high, the Texan divas will be hot on the trail of their brand new single "Survivor" and they are set to go stratospheric as their new album (of the same name) is released on April 27th, 2001.

The promoters, recognising a distinct lack of events of this calibre on the summer festival calendar (split between clubbing and rock events), set about putting together a truly excellent event, in order to satisfy the ever growing demand for quality R & B.

Promoter, John Reynolds told ShowBizIreland.com, "Anyone who saw Destiny Child's incredible, show stopping performance at the Brit Awards this year, will know what these performers can do to even the most demanding of audiences. This is going to be the summer event".

Vince Power of the Mean Fiddler added, : "We are doing a Jam in the Park in the UK this Summer and we're now delighted to be able to do this event here in Dublin too... it will be the best open air pop show this Summer".

Tickets are on sale now from Ticketmaster & usual outlets priced £37.50 (standing) and £42.50 (seated) inc. booking fee. Ticket Hotline: 1890 925 100 - www.ticketmaster.ie
